I know I have not posted in forever, but I have a really good excuse. As I mentioned earlier, Steve went to Arizona for some clerkship interviews for next fall. He left on Sunday and that's when the craziness began. The power has been going out a lot and caused our computer to crash, so no Internet. Neil (as in Diamond, our car) started making a loud screeching noise all the time (the brakes). And I received a new calling at church, which I am excited about, but also a little nervous. I was called to be the Education Counselor in Relief Society.
While all of this was happening, Steve was bumped from his flight and made a few hour stop in Salt Lake, had dinner with his family and received a sweet little voucher for a future flight. He finally did make it to Phoenix and had four interviews on Monday and two on Tuesday. One judge made an offer on the spot and another called later with an offer. He accepted the first one and it looks like we will be moving to Arizona in June '08! Wow! I still don't know how I feel about that. Wait, yes I do!!! I love winter and snow and rain and cold! I hate summer. I guess I'm in for a real treat.

Having a ball!!!

Here are Steve and Alexis playing with the yellow ball and the purple ball. They love to play together and always have so much fun. It is nice that Steve still has energy by the end of the day because I certainly don't!

Here are some silly pictures of our cute girl. That face she's making is her attempt at saying "Cheese." What she doesn't realize yet is that you're supposed to smile.
Things are going well here. The weather is just perfect (for me, at least). Steve & Alex helped me have a fun and relaxing b-day even though I feel like 28 is really old, not to mention the five gray hairs I found today!

Steve leaves to go to Arizona for his clerkship interviews on Sunday. The tables are turned now and I will be able to see what it is like to be spouse-less. Alex and I will stay busy with our little playgroups and shopping.

Turtleback Zoo

For Labor Day, we went with some friends to the Turtleback Zoo. It is a small local zoo in New Jersey with animals mainly from North America. Alex especially liked the bobcat and of course, Steve convinced her that the cougar should be a favorite. I liked the wolves and the talking parrot. We are grateful when Steve has a day off every now and then. His Catholic law school does not hold classes on the Jewish holiday, Rosh Hashannah (Sept. 13), go figure! Too bad, Yom Kippur falls on a Saturday this year! Anyway, he is going to Arizona Sept. 23-26 because he has FIVE interviews for clerkships. He'll only be gone two days though, so I should be alright.

Silly girl!

I went upstairs for about 2 minutes and came back down to find Alex had climbed up the back of the recliner so she could look out the window to see the squirrels. She hasn't done it since though. This first picture is what she does when we tell her to say "Cheese!"


I went into Alex's room after she woke up from a nap and found her like this. I don't know if it was pre- or post-nap, but somehow she lifted the front of her shirt over her head to make a little shrug. I think she's starting a new trend! She hasn't repeated this one either, thankfully!
