Imagine That!

I took Alexis to a children's museum in Florham Park that my friend Sherry had heard about. At first it seemed a little ghetto and small, but it was bigger than it looked and the kids had a blast. My friend, Shandis and her kids came too.

More Cherry Blossom Pics

Because we live so close, Alex and I honestly went back FIVE more times. Here is just a fraction of the pictures I took. Most of the blossoms have fallen off now, but Alex is still asking if we can "go walk around the trees."

Water Baby...NOT!

Last summer, Alexis could not go swimming enough. She was jumping off the edge and was all over the pool at Grandma Noni's house. Well Grandpa Biggs was in town for business and he let us go swimming at his hotel. Aleixs was so scared of the water, she would not even leave the steps. Then, when we forced her to leave the steps, she would cling to us for dear life, digging her nails into our bare skins. It was quite whimpy, but then again most of you have not been to the park with her. No swings! No slides! No bridges either! All things she used to love! What is going on?

I decided that we had to go get some pictures of the Cherry blossoms before we move. We have gone to see them every year, but never took any pictures. So here they are. So gorgeous, right? I'm sure they do not compare to the ones in DC. We are lucky to have them. They stick around for about a week, so you gotta be on the ball. These trees are within a mile of our apartment. I will probably take Alex back again this week.

Day 2 of the Boston Trip

On the second day of our trip, we spent the day in Boston. The Freedom Trail took up most of the day. We went to a number of different historical sites, including Paul Revere's house. In the evening we went to the Boston Children's Museum for $1 Friday Night. It was a steal! Alexis had SO much fun, as did Steve and I.

For those of you that don't know...

A lot of people have been asking where we are moving. Well, can you guess from the pic? It is going to be really HOT 9 months out of the year. I hate the heat. I am going to die. I love the seasons and snow. So sad! BUT at least
We will finally have an income
There is affordable housing
The church is strong
There's lots of Mexican food
It's 5 hours from my parents and 10 from Steve's
Ross (as in Dress for Less)
Sonic
In-N-Out
Grandparents & family
Free skiing in CA (thanks Grandpa M)
Good roads
& Normal-ness (those of you that have lived in NJ know what I am talking about)

We are planning on this being pretty permanent because Steve is taking the BAR there in July. I guess the good things outweigh the one bad.

Day 1 of the Boston Trip: Salem

Finally, right? Sorry about the wait folks! We actually stayed in Salem so maybe I should call it the Salem Trip. We got a really great deal at the Salem Inn, which is this old historic home that has been restored. Everyone was so nice and they had a pretty good breakfast.

On the day we arrived we went to the Salem Witch Museum, the Old Burying Point and the Salem Witch Memorial. It was pretty cold, but aren't all of our vacations? I guess we're stocking up since we will never see the cold again come June!

Where do I even begin? The Salem Witch Museum: Not recommended for anyone under the age of 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went in this large pitch black room and waited (no cameras allowed). This scary voice narrated dioramas and started with a psycho portrayal of the devil. Picture this: Monster-like scaly body with freaky red eyes. I tried to sit in front of Alexis so she could not see it. The rest of the presentation was the history of the witch trials. That part was okay.
It was definitely a tourist trap, but we already knew that going in. They charged $8 per person and dished out a lot of Wicca propaganda. But it was really interesting.
