On the day we arrived we went to the Salem Witch Museum, the Old Burying Point and the Salem Witch Memorial. It was pretty cold, but aren't all of our vacations? I guess we're stocking up since we will never see the cold again come June!
Mel & Alex waiting for our punishment: we look a little too happy.
That's more like it!
Old Burying Point
This is where the men & women are buried who were hung or pressed to death for "practicing witchcraft."

Yes, I set the camera on someone's headstone for the timed shot.
Where do I even begin? The Salem Witch Museum: Not recommended for anyone under the age of 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went in this large pitch black room and waited (no cameras allowed). This scary voice narrated dioramas and started with a psycho portrayal of the devil. Picture this: Monster-like scaly body with freaky red eyes. I tried to sit in front of Alexis so she could not see it. The rest of the presentation was the history of the witch trials. That part was okay.
It was definitely a tourist trap, but we already knew that going in. They charged $8 per person and dished out a lot of Wicca propaganda. But it was really interesting.

ah. i think i just made a mess in my pants. that cemetery witch stuff scares me. but, um, hahaha...who else was going to take a pic of you? and oh yeah, what is pressing? maybe i'll google it.
Ah... Pressing...they had a diorama of that too! They laid this guy down and put weight on him until died! Crazy, I know.
Ok, I'm sure you have said where you are moving to when Steve is done with school, but I must have missed it, so do tell. Somewhere warm, I am so jealous.
Ha, GJ and I went here with his parents two years ago...I had to go to Salem because I was always so obsessed with the witch trials. We had the same reaction to that museum, total tourist trap...and the day we went, there was like a two hour wait outside! Yeah, I can't believe Alexis made it through! Brave girl!
