Natural History
This slide show is from the second day of our trip. First, we made the mistake of taking a 2-year old to the National Archives so we could see the U.S. Constitution. She was not into it. They do not allow flash photography in order to preserve the documents, so no pics. We then went to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. Alex loved all the animals and dinos, but was not too fond of the gems, nor the Hope Diamond. What kind of princess is she? In the bugs and insects exhibit, she held a giant green caterpillar, the biggest grasshopper I've ever seen and a nasty quarter-sized black beetle. We watched a tarantula eat his weekly lunch and saw a cockroach from Madagascar (the length of my palm). The volunteer tried to get me to touch it, but there was NO WAY! After the museum, we ate at Pentagon City Mall. That evening we went to Fairfax, VA to visit one of my friends from high school, Kerri. They gave us yummy pizza and ice cream. Thanks Johnsons!

What about your cool old roommate and her family that live a skip hop and jump from DC? I forgive you this time but I do think we should try to see each other before you head back west.
